The natural memory of PTFE assists the
sealing element to grip the shaft into the
on shaft position.
When the seal is installed into the on shaft
position the lip load is distributed over a
wide contact area between the shaft and PTFE
sealing element interface.
Distributed load starts at the tip of the
sealing element in the on shaft position and
decreases towards the heel.
The wide PTFE sealing element to shaft
contact increases seal performance.
Because the seal element lip load is
distributed over a wide contact area the
element wear rate is decreased
creating longer seal life increasing product
performance.
