High performance PTFE spring energized seals are on the
cutting edge of sealing technology. Working in applications
which traditional seals fail due to friction, high temperatures,
media compatibility and high pressure. Many engineers turn
to high performance spring-loaded seals in place of traditional
seals for several additional reasons: longer product reliability,
customer satisfaction, better performance, lower down time
and less maintenance costs. Spring energized seals function
with system pressure. The system pressure assists the springs
in holding the sealing legs in position, resulting in a
positive seal during wear and slight misalignment, maintaining
a leak tight environment.
Eon Technologies offers several types of seal configurations
with different spring types, depending on your particular
application.

200
series Helical Ribbon Spring
The
200 Series family of seals has many years of performance
history. These designs are available in many configurations
to give you the best performance a seal can offer. This
particular seal is perfect for slow speed or static applications.
The coil spring has moderate to high load vs. deflection.
This makes the 200 Series a great choice for sealing thin
liquids or gases. The 200 Series is also excellent in high
pressure applications and offers optional elastomer (O-ring)
energizer, in place of the coiled ribbon spring, and may
be used with back-up rings.

400 series U-shaped Cantilever Spring
The 400 Series is a low load vs. deflection seal. This
seal series is used very often when friction is a critical
factor in the overall performance of a customer's unit.
This versatile design can be used in the medical and food
industries, when cleanliness is necessary, just by adding
silicone in the spring cavity. This keeps contaminants out
of the spring cavity, making cleaning that much easier.
Another advantage of this spring type is the capability
of increased dynamic run-out and hardware tolerances.

Eon Technologies' seals are designed for standard
military MIL-G-5514F and industrial fractional grooves. Recommendations
and custom design are available for piston seals, rod seals,
inside/outside face seals, seals with flanges, dynamic, static
and all grove designs.
