600 series PTFE Rotary seals
The 600 Series rotary seal family is in a special group of their own. Unlike traditional elastomer seals, the sealing element does not have an extension spring on the element. The PTFE element has memory and wants to contract back to its original configuration. The sealing load is distributed over a wider sealing area. The highest load is at the tip of the element and decreases towards the heel. The distributing of the load provides longer life and increased sealing characteristics. The PTFE sealing material has low friction, inert to most media, distributed lip load, low shaft wear, capable of high shaft speeds and wide temperature range.
